Rome’s Trevi Fountain Reopens after $2.4 Million Renovation
After a 17-month privately funded renovation, the Trevi fountain in Rome is “ready for its close-up.” The unveiling took place on Tuesday night, with more than 100 LED lights in place to illuminate of one of Rome’s most iconic attractions.
The almost 300-year-old fountain began to warrant renovation when bits of its elaborate cornice fell in 2012 after a rough winter.
