Passport Online Inc.’s Vice President of Business Development Marilyn Macallair is retiring after seventeen years with the technology company and a 40-plus year career in service to the travel agency community.
Passport will be restructuring its leadership team, and Macallair will stay on in a consultant role for the next six months to ensure a smooth transition.
“Marilyn has been an integral part of a team that grew the company’s portfolio and helped establish its role as a technology leader in leisure travel. She has cultivated and expanded Passport Online’s presence with the entire travel agency, consortia and host agency community and helped thousands of travel agency customers expand their digital footprint,” said Rick Nagle, president and CEO of Passport Online.
Jeanne Colombo, current vice president of supplier relations, will advance to the position of vice president, strategic partnerships. Colombo will now oversee all supplier and agency organization relationships. She has been with Passport for over 6 years in her current role and joined the organization after having been a customer and Passport Advisory Board member through her American Express agency.
A newly created position of director of business development, in the Oregon headquarters office, will now be held by newcomer Joy Martinello. She was most recently the director of leisure services for Direct Travel, Western.
“It has been my absolute pleasure to be a part of Passport’s growth and diversification throughout the leisure travel industry. The partnerships forged have helped to develop state-of-the-art tools for travel agencies and helped connect our supplier partners and our hard-working agency customers to better serve the traveler,” said Macallair. “It is now time for me to step back and enjoy some travel time myself. The future of our company relationships are now firmly in the hands of two company executives who both came to us as former customers and users of our products. That is a total testament to the value we bring and will continue to bring to the travel agency community.”
