S&H Hotels operates the 1 Hotels brand.
1 Hotels, the luxury hotel brand operated by S&H Hotels, announced on Monday plans to add a new property in Austin, Texas, the brand’s first Texas hotel, in 2026.
1 Hotels said the property will be part of a mixed-use hotel, sharing the space with residential and retail projects, at the meeting of Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake in Austin. The hotel will take up space in a tower, currently under construction, that 1 Hotels says will be the tallest in Texas.
The company is promising “Texas-tough, modern-chic guestrooms” that integrate both “cowboy craftsmanship” and the sophisticated tone of “a tech-savvy city.” Plans also call for a lagoon pool on the 16th floor that offers Austin City Limits and the Waller Creek greenway views.
The hotel company, which prides itself in pursuing sustainable and nature-inspired properties, added that the Austin property will overlook a landscape filled with native plants that merge with adjacent Waller Creek. Guests will be able to bike, hike, and walk on a multi-mile chain of trails and paths not far from the hotel’s entrance.
“In one compelling location, 1 Hotel Austin captures the rich diversity of ingredients and experiences that make our brand’s offering unique,” said 1 Hotels Founder and CEO & Chairman of Starwood Capital Group Barry Sternlicht.
“When we open our doors, our guests will immerse themselves in the energetic attractions of the Austin creative community while simultaneously serving a restorative relationship to the Hill Country’s natural beauty. We have never been more deliberate about aligning our creative process with our brand’s purpose of connecting our guests to the beauty of nature, to each other, and most memorably, creating an “oasis” for themselves.”
The announcement follows news last week that 1 Hotels opened 1 Hotel San Francisco, the brand’s second California hotel after its San Diego hotel, and its first in San Francisco.
That property sits in Embarcadero, across the street from San Francisco Bay and not far from the city’s downtown. In total, it offers 186 guest rooms and 14 suites, along with panoramic views of the city’s rolling hills.
