Sunwing Celebrates Canada’s Great Outdoors During 150th Anniversary Year
Sunwing, one of Canada’s leading tour companies, has published its summer tour itineraries in celebration of the country’s 150th birthday, with a focus on national parks that takes advantage of the fact Parks Canada is offering free admission during this special anniversary year.
Sample itineraries for packages (available from May 16 until Sept. 6, 2017) include hiking or kayaking through one of Canada’s newest national parks, Gulf Islands National Park, near Vancouver. Another offering is a few hours north of Toronto – Thousand Islands National Park.
In Newfoundland, travelers can spot moose and caribou, hike fjords at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gros Morne National Park, or traverse the glacially-rounded, bare rock summits of the Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve, the largest federal national park in eastern North America which has been home to Innu, Inuit, and other cultures for thousands of years.
