After releasing its 2018/2019 fall and winter schedule last week, Canadian low-cost carrier Swoop has added service from Canada to five U.S. cities, all of which kick off this October.
Starting Oct. 11, 2018, Swoop will fly to Las Vegas from Edmonton daily; and from Abbotsford on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday weekly. It will then add a Las Vegas from Hamilton flight, four times weekly on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, beginning Oct. 26.
Starting Oct. 17, the carrier will add three flights to Florida cities. It will fly to Orlando from Hamilton three times weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday; Tampa to Hamilton three times weekly on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, which starts on Oct. 20; and Fort Lauderdale twice weekly, on Friday and Saturday, as of Oct. 26.
Then, on Oct. 27, Swoop will add service from Edmonton to Mesa, twice weekly, operating on Wednesday and Saturday.
According to Swoop’s President Steven Greenway, the airline added the flights because “there has been a lot of interest in our plans for the remaining three aircraft we receive this year.”
“Swoop’s success in the Canadian ULCC space combined with the evident success of ULCCs in the U.S. affirms that North American travelers are ready for an airline to open up the border to ultra-low-cost air travel,” he said.
Swoop, which was launched last year, offers seats at up to 40 percent off standard fares.
